Former Lagos state governor Bola Tinubu says the Peoples Democratic Party's members are calling for anarchy in Ekiti state if the request for the deployment of military to the state for the re-run governorship election is granted by the federal government. Speaking with aviation reporters in Lagos, the former governor described as unfortunate that the PDP was calling on the military to come to Ekiti to assist in the election adding that the military as an institution was not meant for civil activitiesm.Tinubu declared that fundamental question on how prepared was the police force should be asked and not the military to come into politics.

" PDP is contemplating bringing in the military instead of putting the military  personnel to good use, to defend the territorial sovereignty , of the country, and even stop  the militant activities in the Niger Delta, and give them the necessary things. In  Nigeria, we must be careful, the way we use our military personnel, they are to defend the  territorial sovereignty of the country, government cannot call for war against its own  citizens, it is a shame , it will be a shame."

On the scheduled re-run election in Ekiti,Tinubu declared that the Action Congress ,AC will win the election and warned the PDP to be very careful in the invitation of the military as this has shown that the PDP has lost the election."We are going to win. And the PDP government should better be careful, the way we use our military in the conduct of elections.It is failure on the part of the PDP led government, they have failed, they should go, if they need the military to conduct a bye election, they have accepted they have failed. We are going to win that election, an I am warning them , that they should be careful,, it is just a little thing that starts the problem of every  nation, they have asked us to go for election. In April, 14,2007, Action Congress candidate, Kayode Fayemi won that election, they say they had dispute , that the result was declared illegally, falsified result declared. We followed the civil process, we went to the lower tribunal, and the tribunal gave its verdict, no one resorted to violence, they went to the Court of Appeal, , seeking redress, through the process, the final verdict said , go and retake election in 64 wards, 813 pooling units, you now bring all sorts of hanky panky, that you must win. It is only a party on the ground, that has confidence of service to the
people, they should allow free and fair elections",

According to the former governor,INEC should not be blamed alone as the whipping boy in this case because when there was no collusion,no bridge, there will be no malpractice and election should be allowed to be free and fair.

He declared that the PDP was an enemy of institutional democracy and good political culture in the country warning that if the was rigging in the forthcoming re-run election this time around that there will be destruction.
