Ajani
The State Security Service SSS has
,detained Wale Ajani
president of the National Youth Council of Nigeria
.Sources with him
at the SSS office said he has been
held
at noon today.One of his
associates who confirmed the detention
told Newsdiaryonline
Ajani was held after he honoured
what is viewed as a routine chat with the SSS.
The associate who spoke with Newsdiaryonline this evening said
Ajani was still being detained and added that
normally “as the national youth president, the SSS usually
invites him for chat .He went there to honour an invitation and
he was surprisingly
detained’’
Asked what could be
reason for the detention, he said it was possibly because of the
hunger strike cum
rally against the removal of subsidy scheduled for
Friday. “We are not
embarking on any violence, we just want to embark on hunger
strike and gather ourselves at a location’’ the associate said
Another member of the organization said “ the struggle is not
about any Youth Council or organisation, it’s the Nigerian
people resisting a disastrous government policy so with or
without Ajani Nigerian
Youth would still demonstrate our displeasure against the
removal of fuel subsidy by this administration.”
