Nigeria's Information and Communications Minister ,Professor Dora Akunyili has written to  the British Broadcasting Corporation,BBC  denouncing the negative portrayal of Lagos and by extension Nigeria in a recent documentary entitled ``Welcome to Lagos''.

The Minister said ''Nigeria rejects the deliberate attempt by the BBC to portray Lagos and by implication ,Nigeria as a city and nation of slums and scavengers''
