More Donation for cancer patients:
Kogi Gives N5million For Elijah & Kamilu's Treatment

The Kogi State Government in response to the Save Our Soul, SOS
made by the Childhood Cancer Foundation, CCF Founder, Mrs Alice
Ada Bisong, on the need for urgent Kidney transplant for Elijah
Sani,15,Ankpa and
major Heart surgery for Kamilu Iliya 8.They are both from Kogi
and they require N22.156Million for treatment at a
Hospital in India.They are currently on Admission at the
National Hospital, Abuja.
The Permanent Secretary of the Kogi State Liaison Office Abuja,
Mr Abraham Akale, who represented the Kogi State Governor,
Governor Ibrahim Idris, noted that although the Governor is out
of the country on lesser Hajj, the attention of the Governor was
drawn to the plight of the kids by CCF and he immediately
approved N5Million naira for the Children.
“This donation is to support the bill for their surgery, it is
sad and worrisome that the case of children with terminal
illness is on the increase in the country, it is important that
something is done to stop this” he stated.
“The State Government acknowledges the efforts of CCF and all
they are doing for the children and we pray that other Nigerians
will emulate them, while we urge other State Governments to
support their indigenes especially these children as they are
our future leaders, while thanking God who preserved the lives
of the boys. They have very bright future and we must help them
actualize it. “
According to Dr Eze, Elijah Sani 15 was diagnosed in February
2011 with stage 5 Kidney failure and has been on admission at
the National Hospital since then. He explained that the boy
receives dialysis 3 times a week and this has kept him going. We
got the attention of CCF and they started picking his bills.
Elijah was admitted with issues of hypertension but we were able
to stabilize him.And CCF have concluded arrangement for his
surgery in India
The mother Blessing Hauwa Sani, widow 38, who was to donate her
Kidney to rescue her son, has also been diagnosed to have cyst
in both kidneys. Thus she invited her husband’s younger brother
and process is on for his test to ascertain if he can donate to
save the nephew. She thanked the Governor and Mrs Bisong for
their support to her son, who is a twin.
According to Dr Bose Babaniyi, a Consultant at the National
Hospital, the case of Kamilu Iliya, 8, Okene was diagnosed first
when he was a year old,he was diagnosed to have a hole in the
heart and the parents were told to bring N400,000 then but they
didn’t have it and then it degenerated to Iliya's
inability to walk. There is cancer on
his chest as our
investigation revealed. He had a large hole in the heart that is
cancerous.
“We invited CCF to come and assist. Since then, they have been
catering for all of his needs. We have gotten Fortis hospital in
India and they are waiting to do the surgery. She also urged the
Governor's Representative to extend support to other kids such
as Tsumu from Adamawa and Ebuka, Enugu, whose limb was
amputated. “
Nana Kamilu, the mother of Kamilu could not stop her tears of
joy at the gift from her Governor for the kids. She prayed God
to bless both the Governor and Mrs Bisong for giving her son a
hope to live again, adding that,“my son wants to be a Medical
Doctor”. I pray this surgery works out so he gets his dream come
true ,she stated.
Mrs Bisong thanked “the Kogi State Governor and his wife for the
support and prompt attention they gave the kids while urging
other State Governments to support the children. She said she
resigned as a nurse to enable her answer her calling of giving
back these children their lives. Adding that,“God has been my
pillar and I thank him for providing for me to see to the
welfare of these kids, I urge all Nigerians to do same, let us
give these kids new life”.
In a related development earlier Smile Initiative a group of
young Nigerians have donated N20,000 to Tsumu, while the
Ansarudeen Chief Imam of Maitama Mosque gave a bag of Rice and
other items. The Reverend Sisters from Sisters of Jesus The
Redeemer Gwarimpa visited the children and prayed with them.
