The Executive Governor of Osun
State,Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola of
Osun state on Friday has charged
Kingmakers to fill the vacant stool
of the Ataoja of Osogbo as soon as
possible. Prince Oyinlola
spoke at the Fidau prayers organised
by the Osogbo muslim community in
conjunction with the family of the
late Oba Iyiola Oyewale Matanmi 111
at the Ataoja's palace.
He prayed that God would give Osogbo
another peace -loving and
progressive monarch stressed that
the Kingmakers should not do
anything to delay the choice of
another Monarch for the community.
While reminding the people that he
had never done anything contrary to
what was right in filling Obaship
stools since becoming governor,
Oyinlola vowed that there would be
no favouritism in the choice of the
next Ataoja stressing that the post
would go to the right place.
" No matter what anyone does, the
right place will get it. The right
thing would be done. I would not do
what I could not defend before my
Creator. It does not matter if you
like or dislike the son of Oyinlola
because of anything. I owe my God
explanations for every action I
take," he said.
President Goodluck Jonathan sent a
minister to the Fidau ceremony which
was witnessed by top government
functionaries and all traditional
rulers in the state led by the Ooni
of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade.
