Former Vice President and presidential
aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP), Atiku Abubakar has condoled former
President Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida over
the death of his mother in-law, Hajiya Asabe
Muhammed King who died in Cairo, Egypt at
the age of 88.
In a statement by his campaign organisation
in Abuja, the presidential aspirant said the
death of Hajiya Asabe King was a great shock
to him and his family coming barely a year
after the demise of his daughter and wife of
Babangida, Maryam Babangida.
Describing the late Asabe as an exemplary
mother, who was a role model to her
children, grand-children and great
grand-children, the former Vice President
noted that living to the age of 88 was the
crowning moment of a woman’s life journey.
According to him, the best tribute her
offspring could pay to the late Hajiya Asabe
King is to live by her virtues of humility,
compassion and kindness.The former Vice
President prayed to God to forgive the
frailties of the deceased and reward her
with paradise
