Thursday May 27, 2010 has been fixed for the formal celebration of NGO Network magazine’s 10th Year Anniversary. The event, which is the first of its kind by the  non-profit media in Nigeria, will take place in Denis Hotel, Abuja. NGO Network is a general interest magazine for the third sector in Nigeria and sub-Saharan African. In the last ten years, the magazine is published and distributed free-of-charge among stakeholders in the non-profit sector: NGOs, inter-governmental agencies, development partners and individuals.

Highlights of the event include Dinner and Award Nights, presentation of the improved bumper edition of the magazine as well as anniversary lecture on the theme: ‘Information Sharing in Volunteer-Service Delivery: Prospect and Challenges’ which will be delivered by Abdu Hussaini the Country Director of ActionAid International, Nigeria. NGO Network special project, Save-A-Life will also be showcased during the event.

The magazine’s Reward, Recognition and Award Scheme (RRAS) will feature the award conferment and recognition of the contributions of six (6) Non-State Actors (NSA); two (2) Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and two (2) corporate organizations, for selfless service to humanity and social corporate responsibility.

Civil society activists from all walks of life, including international development partners, inter-governmental agencies and individuals within and outside Nigeria have indicated interest to grace the event.
