Newsdiaryonline learnt that Mrs Ayoka Adebayo,
the Ekiti state Resident Electoral Commissioner who
resigned her appointment in controversial
circumstances will be at the National Headquarters
of INEC Abuja today.According to a source, if things
went well, she should be there now .It was not
immediately clear how or why she agreed to show up
there after resigning her appointment. But the
Federal Government speaking through Prof
Dora Akunyili rejected her
resignation. The FG said there was no
evidence that she was impeded from doing
her job in Ekiti. Police Inspector
General Mike Okiro raised the ante
by declaring her wanted. But Mrs
Adebayo in her resignation letter had
said she opted to resign because she
would not, as a Christian like to do
something against her conscience.
Newsdiaryonline sources said even as she
was expected to be at INEC headquarters
some unknown people suspected to be
thugs had stormed Mrs Adebayo's Abeokuta
residence.No information was available
immediately if any damage was done to
the house.No one could volunteer
information on the motive of the
suspected thugs said to have been
sighted at her Abeokuta residence
earlier on. |
