ex Gov Daniel
Final burial rites have been announced for the His Grace,
Reverend Abraham Adebola Daniel, father of the
immediate past Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
According to the family, the rites of passage kick off on
Wednesday January 11, 2012 in Omu where the Christian
Association of Nigeria, Ijebu Zone will organize a service of
songs in his honour at his residence in Omu Ijebu. This will be
followed on
Thursday January 12 with a wake keep at his residence in Sagamu
under the auspices of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Remo
Zone. The burial ceremonies, outing and thanksgiving service
will hold on Friday January 13, 2012 at Abrahams Tabernacle, Oba
Erinwole Street GRA Sagamu.
The
Most Rev Abraham Adebola Daniel JP died peacefully in his sleep
on Wednesday, 14th Dec 2011 at a ripe age of 95. Pa Daniel was
born on 16th Jan 1916 to the family of Abamba Otesile of Makun,
Sagamu. Pa Daniel started his missionary
life as one of the main lieutenants of Primate J O
Ositelu, and in his early days, several churches were pioneered
in various locations including Ibadan, Benin City, Ifo, Idogo,
Ijebu Igbo, Abeokuta, etc.
He was also in Liberia where he became a close friend of
President William Tubman and President William
Tolbert while on evangelical mission in that country. He also
toured several West African countries to propagate the gospel
and carry out evangelical works.
Pa Daniel is survived by several children, grand children and
great grand children among whom is the immediate past Governor
of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.
