We reject any
discussion or meeting with Govt until the fuel price is reversed
–Rivers TUC Posted Wed Jan
4,2012

The Trade Union Congress of Nigeria
(TUC)Rivers State would like to dissociate itself from any
discussion or meeting with any committee set up by the
federal
government on the fuel subsidy. This is because
this government, going by the way they callously ambushed
Nigerians over the fuel subsidy matter , cannot be trusted and
we will not be part of any dialogue / discussion with a
deceitful and wicked government. We maintain our position that
government must first reverse the price of fuel to N65/litre
before we can be part
of any discussion or dialogue with the
government. We state that even the military governments in all
their bravado never treated Nigerians with this level of
contempt and disdain. We therefore call on all Nigerians to
begin mobilisation for full scale National strike and mass
protest. A government that ambushes her citizens deceitfully on
1st January, is an anti-people government and must first
apologise to the people and reverse their anti-people actions
before they can be taken seriously.
We call on all those appointed to 'dialogue' with labour to
honourably decline their appointments and join the Nigerian
people in this fight.
