CPC leads in Kaduna state

The CPC has taken a clear lead in Kaduna state giving the
ruling PDP cause
for worry over the remaining elections. Major General
Mohammed Sale of the CPC
clinched the Kaduna Central senatorial seat.Nenadi Usman ,PDP
however emerged winner of the Senatorial election for Southern
Kaduna senatorial zone, giving the
incumbent senator and
ACN candidate, Caleb Zegi to the third position a thorough
drubbing.
Usman of the PDP polled 428,992 votes while Comfort Iliya of the
CPC pulled 73,830 to come second, while Caleb Zegi of the ACN
polled 70, 488 to come third. Major
General Mohammed Sale of the Congress for Progressive Change
(CPC) won the senatorial election for Kaduna Central Senatorial
zone.
Results of the National Assembly elections in Kaduna state so
far showed indicate that
the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) has taken a clear lead
the state, winning six of the 10 results received.
It showed that while the PDP won in the Federal Constituency of
the state governor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa, it lost in the
constituencies of the Vice President, Mohammed Namadi Sambo,
Director General of the Jonathan/Sambo campaign organisation,
Ambassador Dalhatu Sarki Tafida and the Deputy Governor, Mukthar
Ramalan Yero.
The CPC won in Zaria, Sabon Gari, Soba, Igabi, Kaduna North and
Kaduna South Federal constituencies while the PDP won in Chikun/Kajuru,
Kaura, Lere and Sanga/Jama'a federal constituencies.
Sources said the PDP also won the election in Sanga/Jama'a
federal constituencies while election is yet to be held in three
other federal constituencies.
