Senate president's convoy in Auto crash…one killed, two injured

A heavy duty truck belonging to Dangote group of companies today
(Sunday 25/9/11), ran into the convoy of the President of the
Senate at Otukpo ,
Benue State killing one of the drivers and injuring two others.
According to a statement by Paul Mumeh,
chief press
secretary to the
Senate President ,remains of
the
dead driver inspector,
Honourable Abah has
been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Makurdi, Benue
state mortuary while the injured ones; corporal James Ogwuche
and constable Rasheed Quadiri are receiving medical attention at
the same hospital.
The convoy which was Abuja bound had barely departed when the
truck loaded with Dangote
cement with registration number Jigawa,XC 900 GRK, rammed into
the convoy.
Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps
(FRSC),helped to evacuate the victims to the hospital
while the driver of the truck was said to have fled into the
bush .
Personal physician to the president of the Senate, Dr.David
said the injured officers were responding to treatment.
