Reports monitored on social media said there has been a protest against  the removal of fuel subsidy in Zamfara state in Northern Nigeria.This report came as mobilization on social media for an Occupy protest at Eagle  Square in Abuja reached its crescendo  as gleaned  from tweets today.

This afternoon  “omojuwa J Japheth-Omojuwa”  reported on twitter   that “We are inside the parking lot beside #EagleSquare” evidently  to protest against the removal of fuel subsidy. 

"Lady_DeeliciousDaibah" who  joined the Eagle square protest also tweeted,  "My trip to Eagle Square was an eye opener!A couple of youths(not above 100ppl) were there.With the police and all"

Yesterday's removal of  fuel  subsidy has raised the price of petrol  to at least N140 per litre .There have been reports of higher prices per litre in varying parts of the country.Transport fares have shot up astronomically  as well.
