2011 polls:Don’t let politicians use you,Group tells Ebonyi youth      Newsdiaryonlline    Fri   1/4/11

As the nation warms up to the polls, to elect those who will run the affairs of the country, for the next four years, the Ebonyi Indigenes resident in the federal capital Territory have called for a peaceful, free and fair election in Ebonyi state.

Ebonyians in Abuja believe that only a situation where the people are allowed to make their choice of who represents them at all levels- the state House of Assembly, House of Representatives, the Senate, the Governorship and the president guarantees development.

Its president -general, Ben-Bright Mkpuma, who made the appeal, after the executive meeting of the association in Abuja, also called on  the youth  in the state, not allow themselves to be used by politicians, who have mismanaged the affairs of the state for more four years.

“We the Ebonyians in Abuja are fully aware of the political killings in the state; we therefore condemn this dastardly act. This should stop immediately, in the interest of the state and its citizens. It is on record that the high level poverty in the state, lack of development at all levels and the huge debt the state has been plunged in can cause violence, but life.

It should be noted that Ebonyians in Abuja and its environs have not endorsed and candidate, starting from those contesting for House of Assembly to governorship.  The fact remains that Ebonyians both at home and outside desire for a change at the centre of the state, people should be allowed to vote for a candidate of the their choice.  The security agencies should equally give protection to every body in the state.
