presently in the United States of
America attending a United Nations' ,UN
function has approved some further
changes at the top hierarchy
of
military formations.Earlier he sacked
some service chiefs and appointed new
ones
A statement today said senior officers
of the Nigerian Army have been
redeployed.The statement said in the
main that
``the
posting which affected principal staff
officers, formation and corps commanders
as well as commandants of training
institutions and some staff officers at
Defence and Army Headquarters led to a
reshuffle whereby Major General JO

Commanding (GOC) 1 Division, Brigadier
General MD Abubakar GOC 2 Division,
Major General SO Idoko GOC 3 Division,
Brigadier General KTJ Minimah GOC 81
Division, Major General SY Bello GOC 82

These latest
changes are coming as the tempo of
political
activities is rising.General Aliyu Gusau,
the national security
adviser quit the government on
Monday to join the presidential race in
which his ex - President
boss Jonathan is also contesting.
Generals Gusau,Ibrahim Babangida and
former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and
Governor Bukola Saraki are teaming up to
defeat the president at the PDP
primaries
The President’s recent
redeployment of men in the
military and security
circles are evidently aimed at
keeping trustworthy men in key
positions to avert any security threat
to the nation and its democracy in the
course of what promises to be a titanic
power struggle for the PDP and the
nation in
the weeks and months ahead.
