At least one person killed in Bomb blast at  Kawo , Kaduna   Newsdiaryonline  Fri April 22,2011

 

At least one person has been killed while no less than two others were wounded in the aftermath of a bomb blast this evening at Rafin Guza  in Kawo  area of  Kaduna metropolis.Kaduna state is one of the centres of  mayhem after the presidential polls.

The explosion has heigthened  anxiety in the metropolis which is yet to recover from the post election violence.''I don't know what  whether they want to tear the city apart.I really don't understand why anyone is doing this to Kaduna'' said a media practitioner in the city.Another resident of Ungwar Dosa this night confirmed the explosion:''It happen not too far from us'', he said.

There is a curfew in place in the city  and this latest explosion came day after INEC postponed the gubernatorial election in Kaduna  and Bauchi due to the security concerns.

The police in Kaduna had   two weeks ago alerted the nation to the existence of dynamites meant to cause  mayhem.One person was killed when he- along with another person- was conveying a bag of dynamites to a location in the metropolis.

At least  200 people are reported to have been killed in the post election violence which has rocked the northern parts of the country after the presidential election.There is a  general  feeling of unease over governorship polls  scheduled to hold in most states on Tuesday,April 26,2011.
