Kogi PDP:Capt Wada emerges gov'norship flagbearer

Wada , a close associate of incumbent Governor Ibrahim Idris
emerged Thursday night as the flagbearer of the ruling Peoples
Democratic Party ,PDP for the forthcoming gubernatorial
election.He polled
547 votes to defeat Isa Kutepa and Phillip Salawu
who also
contested in the
controversial primaries.
Many aspirants like Echocho and Dr Onukaba
Adinoyi Ojo ,Air Vice Marshal Isaac Alfa and Air Vice
Marshal Salawu Atawodi withdrew citing the court order
restraining the party from conducting the primaries and other
alleged irregularities.
“I have been informed that a federal High
Court in Abuja has given an order restraining PDP and INEC from
conducting the primaries and as a law abiding citizens who
believe in the rule of law, I am withdrawing from the exercise.
I do not want to be part of illegality,” Echocho who had won
the party’s primaries
several months only for
a rerun to be called later,told journalists in Lokoja.
