 Update
Ekiti verdict;Labour Party Rejoices
By Dan Nwanyanwu               Newsdiaryonline    Sat Oct 16,2010

Labour Party Nigeria received  with Joy the landmark judgement by the Appeal Court, in Ilorin Division which nullified the election of Governor Segun Onias  the victory portends good over evil, a victory that has brought back the mandate  of the people which was freely given in 2007 and stolen by Oni through the
instrument of INEC headed by Prof. Maurice Iwu.

The Judgement signifies a political tsunami in Ekiti State, those  of us in the Labour Party family are very happy and joyous over the victory. We  have passed through this journey before and nobody can appreciate how sweet it  is other the labour party family.
We thank the Almighty God for restoring Victory to Ekiti people  and Dr. Fayemi even though it has taken more than three (3) years to retrieve  the mandate. With the Judgement of Justice Salami we salute the judiciary for  being courageous at this time when men and women of honour and integrity would
have preferred to remain silent.

For being bold in delivering this judgement, Justice Salami has written his name  in Gold like retired Justice Okuntade of the Supreme Court, this are men that  cannot be forgotten in Nigeria’s political history. With this judgement, it is a  shame to Prof. Iwu’s led INEC, also a shame to Mrs. Adebayo Ayoka the then
Resident Electoral Commissioner and all those that collaborated in scattering  the peoples mandate during the 2007 election. The labour party and Nigerians will  never allow what transpired during the 2007 polls to happen again in 2011.

Those who believe in do or die affair should forget it because in 2011 the votes  will count and it will be one man one vote.

We congratulate Dr. Fayemi for his resilience. We advice he attends to the  numerous problems of governance in the state which has been neglected in the  past three (3) years
