Fashola runs Lagos like a local government- Ade Dosunmu-By Ayokunle Oloye   Newsdiaryonline Fri March 4,2011

 

The Lagos state People Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidate, Dr. Shamsideen Ade Dosunmu has alleged the Lagos state governor and Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) governorship candidate, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola of running the state like a local government.

Dosunmu while speaking with newsmen in Lagos yesterday said Lagos state with its level of economy is too important to be run like a local government. According to Dosunmu, “the state present government focuses more of the minority, instead of affecting the majority of the populace with its policies and programmes in the last four years.”

He said “I believe there is no better time than now for Lagos to witness change, Lagos is too important to be run like a local government, it’s the melting point of all ethnic nationalist“

He continued that taxes collected from the people must be judiciously utilized to develop both human and state basic infrastructure “you may have seen activities in the government but how well are these activates providing solution to the problem of the people, we are going to bring new perceptive to governance such that we will run government that will address the needs of the people and provide solution to government”

He said if elected his government will be people -focused “ we will feel the pulse of the people, seek areas where they need government attention and pay attention to them because there are the one that pay taxes which we mange.” He added that his government will engage in human development rather than the physical development which the current government in the state has been embarking upon  .

He however expressed confidence in  INEC to conduct a free and fair election in the coming polls.
