The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA Mr. Temisan Omatseye today honored an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC), to clarify certain allegations in connection with an investigation linked to the Agency.

Mr. Omatseye, who attended to official duties in his office till about 5pm this evening, went to the office of the EFCC at Awolowo road, Ikoyi, Logos  shortly after receiving in audience, a team from Goa Shipyard limited who were in the country to seek NIMASA ‘s support in  investing in the Nigerian shipyard industry. The Director General has offered to co-operate fully with the Commission towards the successful conclusion of the investigation.

Members of the shipping community in Nigeria as well as the general public are advised to ignore any insinuation, comment or report not endorsed by the Agency or the EFCC related to this investigation or matters thereto.

The Agency through the Public Relations Unit would provide further updates as the investigation unfolds.
