.......Edo Labour Party to support ACN candidates

Chairman of Labour Party (LP) in Edo State, Elder Sam Omede has said that the  party has no candidate in the forth coming election in the state, but will  support the candidates of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to win their  elections.  The Labour Party chairman, who disclosed this during the flag off of the ACN  campaign in Egor local government area, said the party’s ticket is not for sale. According to him, the Labour Party which was formed by Edo State Governor,  Comrade Adams Oshiomhole will do everything possible to make all the Action  Congress of Nigeria candidates succeed. “Because Comrade Adams Oshiomhole is our leader we would do everything to make  all the candidates of the Action Congress succeed”, he added, He maintained that, “the Labour Party is not a Tuke Tuke party and we are not  selling the party’s ticket to anyone”.

“I left the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), after one hundred days in office of  Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as governor when they refused to practice true  democracy and I joined the Labour Party.  The governor has succeeded in touching  the lives of the people and he is not a sectional leader,” he noted. The rally which was held at the Olua Primary School, Uselu, witnessed the  decamping of prominent PDP and Labour Party members to the Action Congress of  Nigeria. The Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole reiterated his appeal to the  people of the state not to allow any leader to use them against the interest of

the party.

“This election should be based on performance. Ask those people who campaign to  you which party they belong to and what they have done for the people because  the purpose of voting people into positions is for them to represent our  interest“, he said.

While stressing that the election should be based on issues, Comrade Oshiomhole  said the PDP gave the people of Edo State poverty and lamentation in ten years  and he commended the members of the state House of Assembly who have made it  possible for the government to touch the lives of the people.

“Without legislative powers we cannot award the various contracts across the  state.  We have transformed Adolor College, Olua Primary School, Edaiken Primary  School, constructed roads, provided water and electricity for the Egor local  government as well as the payment of N6blillion for the construction of a modern  moat to decongest the flooding around the teachers house and environs,” he  added.

The Governor presented Hon Ehigie Uzamere, the senatorial candidate, Hon. Jim  Adun, the House of Representative candidate and Rt.Hon Paul Ohonbamu the House  of Assembly candidate to the people  of Egor Constituency.
