The grand rally called by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to end its campaign for the governorship election slated for January 14,  in Adamawa State witnessed the coming together of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and his deputy, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

It was the first time the embattled duo, who for sometime now, never missed an opportunity to bash each other  would be sitting side-by-side and freely chatting.  Atiku rode with Obasanjo in the same ash colored Infiniti QX56 Jeep with registration number Lagos: AT 744 to the Lamido of Adamawa’s Palace, where there was a courtesy call by the PDP leadership, and thereafter the Ribadu Square in Yola where the rally held. Expectedly, the crowd burst into a loud cheer when they saw Obasanjo and Atiku come out of the same car.

In his speech, Atiku spoke of the progress the ruling party had made in the last 13 years and praised the efforts of its founding fathers. He credited his former boss, Chief Obasanjo with some of those achievements.

He called for the reintegration of all PDP members in Adamawa State who left the party in anger and assured that he would personally reach out to them wherever they are now holding out.

When it came to his turn, Obasanjo was at his vintage comic best when he introduced his former deputy, as “my former Vice President” and “my former, my former, my former right-hand man” to the applause of the crowd. To this, Atiku moved from Obasanjo’s left hand side to his right to yet more thunderous applause from party faithful and supporters that had thronged the Ribadu Square in Yola for the grand finale of the PDP campaign.
