PDP: Osun   indigenes in Diaspora drum support for gubernatorial aspirant
From Sefiu Ayanbimpe, Osogbo  Newsdiaryonline    Thur Oct 28,2010

As politicians from different political parties are working round the clock ahead of 2011 general election, the Osun State indigenes in Abuja and Diaspora have drummed support for the candidature of a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Alhaji Fatai Akinade Akinbade.

This was contained in a press statement issued and signed by the National Coordinator of the group, Otunba Gbenga Adetunji who  made a copy available to our correspondent in Osogbo saying that it is no longer news that Osun state is searching for a formidable, purposeful, visionary, focus and effective leader who will paddle the state affairs in the next political dispensation.

Otunba Adetunji said that only Alhaji Akinbade who was former Secretary to the State Government has the credentials to rule the 19 years old state and take her to the next level.

His words: ``We members of Osun state indigenes in Abuja and Diaspora have looked critically, taken into consideration antecedents and pedigree of those that have shown interest in our state gubernatorial race and we strongly believe and so much trust the credibility, capability, intelligence, humility and doggedness of Alhaji Fatai Akinbade as the only candidate that can take Osun state to a greater heights.

He stressed that it has now become imperative that the whole citizenry should look before leaping. The future of Osun state needs to be safeguarded and we all must be conscious of this.

He opined that there is dire need to have it at the back of our minds that by virtue of permutation, lobbying, aggressiveness of the stakeholders could lead to emergence of unpopular and visionless candidate as our Governor in the state come 2011, while he prayed to God to forbid such occurrence on the state.

Adetunji therefore advocates and encourages all other groups in the state to support and join forces together in order to salvage the people of our dear state from a visionless leader that may emerge if we do not rise to the occasion.

He described Akinbade as humane, God fearing and capable of promoting the interest of our people.
