Bayelsa Stat-born Peace Ambassador, Tony Oyatedor, former ace
broadcaster with the Nigeria Television Authority and current
President/CEO ,Publisher
Newstime
International Company has called on President Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan to look inwards in seeking solutions to Nigeria's
current insecurity. He
said the problem can be
resolved with his formula of preaching peace as is stated by the
three Holy Books; Holy Bible,Holy Quran and Holy Torah.
According to Amb Oyatedor, who was at a
Press Conference with
two others, Evangelist Charity Gomba ,executive director of the
Group (Rivers) and Rev Victor Ovuakporaye, the regional
manager,(Delta), noted that" we do not need the Israelis nor the
Americans to resolve our security issues when
I have a formula
that will bring about
lasting Peace in Nigeria. I want President Jonathan to invite my
group to hear us out on my peace solution to the current
insecurity in the country".
" I plead with the Boko Haram group to down their tools, yes our
leaders have failed us in some ways but that does
not mean that we the
followers have the right to take a fellow human being’s life.
Both leaders and followers should repent and ask God almighty
for forgiveness. None of the Holy Books advocates the taking of
Human Life" he declared.
" We are sorry on behalf of the Federal Government and
leadership in Nigeria at all sphere I
plead with both the
Militants in the Niger Delta and the Boko Haram group in the
North to unite and let’s together with our elected leaders
rebuild Nigeria. For how long will we continue to kill each
other " he queried?
Amb Oyatedor, called on all " Religious sect leaders leaders to
repent, you are a militant repent the door of heaven is open
come back and repent. We must join hands, roll up our sleeves
and work on security so that peace can return to Nigeria.
Currently we sleep with two eyes opened. We have all made
mistakes, Boko Haram,Militants, please we are sorry, please
forgive us, we bring good news to you please repent of your
sins, leaders repent too so we can have peace and sleep with two
eyes closed"
‘I charge us all to take time out to read the Holy Books and
when we do none will ever carry arms against the other, the
burning of Churches and Mosques will come to an end just as
unnecessary killings of our fellow Nigerians as well as the
current tension in the Country will end. We all want peace we
are all one and the churches and mosques are house of prayer not
destruction.
He called on Nigerian leaders to spread the wealth, because if
you spread the wealth it grows. But if you keep it in one spot
like the manure it decays, we must learn to be our brother’s
keepers and love ourselves .
Amb Oyatedor also highlighted the Principles in the Holy Books
to include; Reverently
fear God in all you do knowing He is there. Love your neighbor
as your self knowing that if you can not take a knife and stab
yourself, then you should not do it to another, and the third
principle is whether Christian or Muslim read your Holy Books
and understand that naked we came and naked we shall return. Let
these principles guide
our conduct in life, he advised Nigerians.
He called on all Nigerians who do not have either of the Holy
Books to stop by their office located at One Leadership Way,
Riverdale ,MD 20737 USA. or send email to
newstimefoundation@yahoo.com
and somebody will deliver a copy to you.You can also call
08060701228. ‘I have toured Nigeria teaching Imams, Pastors I
have never been to any
Mosque nor Church, I was
born a Christian, and I dont
plan to open one , adding that our Lord Jesus Christ didn’t have
a Church he went about preaching Love and repentance..
" I have never been to a Koranic School neither did I
study Theology, but i
speak the words as directed by God from the 3 Holy Books. My
passion has always been to teach people the word and he
commended the Saudi Embassy in Nigeria for donating the Quran we
give out while Newstime buys the Bible and give out for free. I
will continue to do this with my Group for Service to Humanity.
" In 2009 we called on Nigerians to gather at the International
Conference Center and taught them for free. God can do all
things with anybody if you make yourself available for him to
use.
He said Prophet Abraham in the Bible was neither a Christian nor
Muslim. What is Important is for leaders of the different
religious groups to teach their worshippers to act according to
the Holy Books.
It will not be out of place to urge President Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan to grant Amb Oyatedor and his group audience to find
lasting peace to this present security unrest in the Country
because women are being left widows ,youths are being wasted who
are supposed to be leaders of Tomorrow, says 2011 President
Junior Chamber International Abuja Unity, JCIN Counsellor Sharon
Akuboh (Kogi).
While JCIN Amb Julius Mmejim , the 2011 National President of
JCIN says there is no alternative to peace, President Jonathan
should count his blessings for having such a brother who is
ready to bring and broker peace. Perhaps the money spent on
getting Israel and America should be paid to this Nigerians let
us all look inwards he declared. We also join in apologising to
all the youths involved in both the militancy and Boko Haram,
yes the leaders have erred ,so have those involved but we
can still correct our mistakes and rebuild Nigeria collectively
because to err is human and to forgive divine
