The attention of the NDLF has been drawn to
a publication in THE NATION Newspaper
credited to one Chief Albert Doutimiyebo
that the current violent arm campaign by
NDLF for a fair deal in Niger Delta is a
guise under(sic) political influence by a
top politician who sponsored the group to
cause confusion in the country.
We want to draw the attention of the Joint
Task Force (JTF) and the police to arrest
the said Chief Albert Doutimiyebo to enable
him prove his allegations beyond reasonable
doubt. This is a campaign of calumny
deliberately intended to undermine the good
works of NDLF to achieve cheap popularity
and attention in a trying times like this in
the nation. If the allegation is true, let
the sponsor’s name be mentioned in the pages
of newspaper for the
world
to see and he should back it up with
tangible evidences, particularly the names
of the other characters he identified as
beneficiaries of the alleged sponsorship.
We want to inform the general public that
this campaign and call for a post-amnesty
conference between federal government and
the aggrieved ex-militants in Niger Delta is
borne out of the failure on the part of
federal government post-amnesty promises and
there is no iota of truth that NDLF is being
sponsored by a top politician. This kind of
fake rumour at trying times like this could
spark off unusual speculation and tension as
it is cruelly sponsored to undermine NDLF
positive agenda for the liberation of the
people of Niger Delta for justice, equity
and fairness. NDLF is not sponsored and for
any reason, if NDLf needs sponsorship, it is
the Dr. Goodluck/Sambo campaign organization
under the ruling PDP that we need financial
aid as that is the NDLF heart political
campaign structure to produce the 2011
President for Nigeria. We are appealing to
the general public for everybody to guard
their utterances in matters related to NDLF
to avoid being counted as enemy.
Signed
Capt. Mark Anthony, Spokesman NDLF
