The Court of Appeal in Ibadan today
declared that Rauf Aregbesola of the Action
Congress of Nigeria,ACN
is
the validly elected governor of Osun
State. In effect Olagunsoye Oyinlola of the
PDP has been sacked
from
office.
Aregbesola’s rise to power has been a
long-drawn battle and one of the highly
contested governorship battles since the
2007 general elections.With his emergence,
the ACN controlled states now has risen to
four namely Lagos,Edo ,Ekiti and Osun.Ondo
state is controlled by the Labour
Party, another wing of the new progressive
movement in the South West. The judiciary has consistently ruled in
favour of the ACN especially in the South
West ,thus ensuring that at
last the votes of the people count albeit
belatedly.
The victory of Aregbesola is already
eliciting
reactions .Dr. Olapade Agoro (Aladura
Patriarch) National Chairman/Presidential
Candidate National Action Council (NAC)
said the ruling is ``good for the
rule
of law in a democracy but just too bad for
political thieves holding on to power
against the wish and mandate of the
people.’’

Agoro’s reaction:
AREGBESOLA ‘S VICTORY GOOD BUT A CHALLENGE
TO RULE OF FORCE IN A DEMOCRACY
The final laying to rest of the Osun State
governorship 2007 election debacle almost
four years after
it was held could be rightly
described good for the
rule
of law in a democracy but just too bad for
political thieves holding on to power
against the wish and mandate of the people.
But for resilience, determination, courage
and financial high capacity there was no way
Aregbesola could have ever claimed his
mandate. It was real victory for the spirit
of struggle for Aregbesola who saw hell in
the hands of PDP, the enemies of truth and
righteousness.
The most painful aspect of the whole
scenario is the law of the land allowing
Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Segun Oni, et al to
stay wrongly in power with stolen mandates
and get away scorch free without getting
punished for the crimes against
humanity committed.
There lies justice challenging commonsense
and allowing big thieves to get away the
with loot, whilst petty thieves get heavily
punished for simple and pardonable offences.
With the 2011 election still some time far
away the need for the NASS to quickly
revisit this anomaly in a democracy becomes
imperative to avert imminent crisis in
expectation
Dr. Olapade Agoro (Aladura Patriarch)
National Chairman/Presidential Candidate
National Action Council (NAC)

Uche Maduemesi :Thank
God that at last it appears God has opened
the register of Nigeria. This is
just the beginning. PDP has never won any
elections, all INEC has been feeding us were
the opposite figures. My worry has always
been that God is always slow to anger.
Justice takes a lot of time to come. Is it
possible for the Okuku High Chief to refund
all he had swallowed with the stolen
mandate. The EFCC should move in and arrest
him as he has a catalogue of fraud cases.
