The
Rivers State Government is to launch a
rebranding campaign to woo investors to
the state.
The
State Commissioner for Information and
Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari
disclosed this while briefing Government
House correspondents on the outcome of
the State Executive Council meeting in
Port Harcourt.
Mrs
Semenitari said a new Logo has been
approved for the state and everything
about the rebranding campaign would
begin to appear in the media soon.
According to the Commissioner, the new
logo which depicts the Deltaic nature of
the state through its blue colour speaks
about the geographical and physical
identity of Rivers people.
Rivers State, the Information boss said
“is at the centre of the Delta and it is
the true Delta of Nigeria”, explaining
that the whole idea behind the
rebranding campaign was to tell
investors that “Rivers State is a place
to live, work and do business”.
The
Executive Council, she said, also
approved the dualisation of the
Isiokpo-Ubima-Omerelu road in Ikwerre
Local Government Area.
The
Commissioner further hinted that
reduction of the state secretariat fence
would soon begin in compliance with the
urban renewal policy of the present
administration which recommends fences
to be see-through.
Mrs
Semenitari used the forum to appeal to
all those who have not complied with the
directive of the Ministry of Urban
Development to reduce their fences to do
so immediately.
At the end of the day’s Executive
Council meeting, council members joined
Governor Amaechi to cut his 45th
Birthday Anniversary Cake and presented
a special birthday
