The high-flying online news site, Newsdiaryonline.com is wearing
a new look. In a statement today, Danlami Nmodu,
Publisher/Editor in chief the online news journal said the site
has been redesigned to serve its users better.
The new features among others
include the
opportunity for visitors
to comment on stories and opinions without delay ,thus
widening the democratic space. The new –look newsdiaryonline.com
which is modelled after Time.com has the outstanding quality of
being aesthetically appealing. These
features in
addition to the site’s emphasis on investigative
journalism
are meant
to satisfy the yearnings of visitors,the publisher said.
Nmodu ,who resigned his post as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of
Lagos-based Insider weekly magazine to focus on
Newsdiaryonline.com
in the statement said, “we shall continue to take steps that
will maintain Newsdiaryonline.com
as a credible
reference point for
news and insightful analysis.
Our reason for redesigning the site is to make every
visit a great delight.’’
He added that the growing number of visitors to the site
necessitated the need to always think of how to serve the
people better, adding: “We promise to be in the vanguard of
courageous journalism aimed at widening the democratic space and
crusading for good
governance. For us, the right of the people to know is very
paramount and we shall not let our readers/visitors
within and outside Nigeria down.”
Nmodu also added
that ``regular visitors to our site would observe that we
correctly reported the collapse of the talks between ACN
and CPC long before party chiefs officially admitted it. We also
did an expose on the Pension fraud in the office of Head of
Service of the Federation long
before the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC
arraigned the suspects. These are
examples of our numerous
investigative stories in the service of the
country and its people’’. Nmodu
added that: ``We will continue reporting events from
