Former Chairman of the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission,Mallam Nuhu
Ribadu has confirmed today that he will
join the presidential race.He said he
wants to lead a positive change for the
good of the majority of Nigerians``I
want a new Nigeria, a new Nigeria is
possible``, Ribadu said
“We love our country,we can make a
country that all of us will be proud
of’’ Ribadu told a select group of
journalists today in Abuja .He also said
Nigerians in the diaspora will be
encouraged to participate in the
transition process.
He used the occasion to dispel the
rumour that the EFCC he led investigated
a case which indicted the First Lady,
Patience Jonathan.He said there was
nothing like that and the entire story
of alleged EFCC case against
Patience was completely false and a
misrepresentation of what happened.He
said his commission actually
investigated a case of N70million
suspicious lodgement by people(a woman
and a male business partner) who
turned out to be contractors in Bayelsa
state.But that EFCC investigations
cleared them of any wrong doing.He
said he does not stand to gain anything
by falsely maligning anybody.
