Rumours of
Yayale Ahmed’s
presence cause
a stir
as
youths keep vigil over Kaduna INEC

There is heavy presence
of armed security
men at the headquarters
of the Independent National Electoral Commission ,INEC in
Kaduna.Eye witnesses said the armed security
comprises the army,
police and other
security agencies which
have barricaded both
sides of the road
to the headquarters of the commission.
In spite of this,
over 200 youths are
also keeping vigil some metres away from the commission’s
headquarters. Some of the youths said they stayed overnight to
keep vigil because
they want to ensure that their
votes count’. We don’t want the ruling party to exert any
influence on the results,’ one of them said.
Some of the boys said that there was anger
among the crowd of
vigilant youth when rumours made the round this morning that
Yayale Ahmed was sighted going into the INEC headquarters in
Kaduna.Ahmed is the Secretary to the Government of the
Federation.But it appears to be all rumours as there was no
immediate confirmation that Ahmed
was actually. Or was it
a case of mistaken identity? In fact how the rumour of Ahmed’s
presence at Kaduna INEC office started is unclear. But many of
the youths said they suspect he may have come to help PDP .
