visits ex Gov Daniel

Former
head of state, General Abdulsalami Abubakar
presenting a letter of condolence to former Governor of
Ogun State Otunba Gbenga Daniel who
recently lost his father
Former Head of State, General Abdusalami Abubakar, on Monday,
January 2, 2012 visited the former governor of Ogun State,
Otunba Gbenga Daniel, at his Lagos residence to condole with him
on the death of his father, Reverend Adebola Daniel.General
Abubakar described the departed reverend
as a man who impacted positively on the lives of those he
came in contact with.
“I’m here on behalf of
my family to condole with you and your siblings on the departure
of your father. No matter how old one is, losing a father or
mother is usually a sad event as it means the loss of somebody
who guides and gives honest advice. We give thanks for the good
life he lived. His contributions to the building of our nation
through your good self as demonstrated in your service to the
state remains indelible,”General Abubakar who also presented a
letter of condolence to the former governor said.
The elder statesman also prayed for God to give the
entire family the fortitude to bear the loss .
Responding on behalf of the Daniels, Otunba Alex Onabanjo
thanked the former head of state for
finding time to come
and condole with the family and for his kind words. He
described him as a worthy ambassador of the country who has
continued to serve Nigeria tirelessly. He said the entire family
appreciated his thoughtfulness and love .
According to a press release by Adegbenro Adebanjo, Media
Assistant to Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Yeye Olufunke Daniel, former
Nigeria Ambassador to Netherlands, Dr Tokunbo Awolowo Dosunmu,
former Director General of the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission,
Mr. Taiwo Alimi, Are Kola Oyefeso,
Akogun Kola Onadipe, Mr. Sina Kawonise were present
during the visit.
