SECURITY BEEFED UP AS IBRAHIM GEIDAM BECOMES GOVERNOR OF YOBE

Reports from Damaturu, the Yobe state capital said security has been beefed up in the aftermath of the shocking death of Governor Mamman Ali.Already,Ibrahim Geidam who was deputy governor to the  late Governor Ali has been sworn in as the new governor of the state.

The security-beef up may not be surprising as the state has been in a political flux since the election of the late governor.By Tuesday afternoon there were hints of unease in the state ,but top-level politicians mobilized stakeholders to ensure a hitchfree transition.

By evening, it was also announced that Abubakar Ali, younger  brother of late Governor Ali has been nominated for  the post of deputy  governor.The  name of the new deputy governor designate is expected to be forwarded to the Yobe State House of Assembly for confirmation.
