The reported alleged attempt by the minister
of Niger Delta, Mr. Orubebe to bribe the
leadership of the Save Nigeria Group stands
condemned. It is shameful, disgraceful and
despicable.
It is most regrettable that for a government
that has in its maiden policy statement made
the fight against corruption as its cardinal
principle and focus to be enmeshed and
engage (sic) in unwholesome act of
blatant corruption.
The attempted bribery exposes the hypocrisy
and shenanigans of the Goodluck
administration and his undisguised
incapacity and debility in leading Nigeria
and ridding it of corruption.
The 50 thousand dollar bribery scandal must
not be treated lightly or swept under the
carpet. The National Assembly and the EFCC
must wade into the matter and get to the
root of it.
We demand a full probe and an immediate
resignation of the minister of Niger Delta.
