Arik:Cancelled flight

Reports from Port Harcourt show that some leaders of PENGASSAN and TUC heading to Abuja for the meeting with other labour official are stranded at the PortHarcourt Airport.

‘Aric Airlines  cancelled their morning and afternoon flights to Abuja.Aero airlines 2.15pm flight is fully booked’ a union official told Newsdiaryonline

It was later learnt that some officials who remain stranded are hopeful of making it to Abuja as Aero has ‘agreed’ to reschedule its flight for 12.30pm instead of 2.15pm.
Labour leaders are meeting in Abuja apparently to review the strike, rallies and protests held  throughout the week. They may take a position on government’s response in order to determine the next line of action. A TUC official in PortHarcourt told Newsdiaryonline this morning,  ‘‘I don’t want any excuse for not being at  that meeting.’’That is why all hands are on deck to ensure that stranded labour officials get to Abuja in time.

Already, PENGASSAN has threatened to shut down oil platform by midnight if progress is not made on the fuel subsidy impasse.
