There was confusion over whether or not the strike called by the NLC over minimum wage will continue on the heels of a report that labour leaders may  issue a statement by 3:00AM on Wednesday.But a labour leader told Newsdiaryonline at 2:30AM that the government radio report about a  3:00AM labour meeting or statement was wrong.

According to him, ''effectively the strike has started.''But he added that the delegation that met with the President in the Villa on Tuesday night will further meet with NEC of NLC on Wednesday  at  noon,  when the issues discussed at the villa will be considered. For  now, the strike progresses, he said

Denja Yaqub, a labour leader  in one of his posting on his facebook page on Tuesday night said``Meeting between Labour and President Jonathan just ended at exactly 9.48pm. We are just leaving the Villa. The strike maximumly begin(s) at 12midnight tonight. The national strike will start as scheduled’’
