Osogbo After Jonathan’s rally :ACN Sweeps PDP Away-By

Less than 24 hours after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
Presidential candidate and Nigeria President, Dr Goodluck Ebele
Jonathan held his Presidential campaign rally at the Township
Stadium in Osogbo, the Osun State Capital on Thursday, the State
chapter of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) members and its
supporters have held another rally in Osogbo, Friday tagged
“SWEEP PDP OUT OF OSUN STATE" to show their unacceptability to
the presidential ambition of Mr. President
The sweeping of the Osogbo metropolis by the ACN took them to
Oja-Oba,station road,Old Garage,Oke-fia,Alekuwodo,Popular Olaiya
junction,Odi-olowo and some other areas. Addressing the
thousands of ACN supporters at popular Oke-fia roundabout in
Osogbo, the ACN director of Research and Strategy, Hon. Sunday
Akeere said that the party decided to sweep away the crisis
brought to the state by the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) on
Thursday under the guise of campaign for Jonathan/Sambo
presidential bid.
Hon.Akeere lamented that the PDP chieftains failed to address
the issues affecting the people of the country in the rally,
noting that they said, “We brought steel Rolling and Machine
Tools to Oshogbo”, describing them as “ destroyers because the
two Federal Companies have turned
moribund when Obasanjo
came into power as civilian President in 1999”.
He said “It is because they are not ashamed of themselves, if
you look at the two companies; they destroyed it and sold
it to themselves. I
stand to be corrected”.
The ACN chieftain appealed to the party faithful and supporters
to continue support the party, while urging them to vote the
party enmass during the forthcoming elections, so that all their
candidates will be voted in as elected officials.
He assured the good people of the state that the good governance
promised by Governor Aregbesola would be fulfilled in no distant
time.
In his own reaction, the caretaker Chairman of Olorunda Local
government in the state,Mr Hakeem
Okunade described
PDP as People Destroying Party maintaining that the people of
the state know what they stand for.
According to him, “They are harbingers of evil, poverty, crisis,
destruction and for the fact that we are custodians of good
things in this state, it behoves
on us to sweep them out of our state. Also, it is not a
surprise to us because their entire edifice
is built on falsehood.
Let me assure you that by April this year we are going to wipe
them out of the state”.
Also reacting, the caretaker chairman of Osogbo local
government, Mr. Isiaka Faramade described the PDP as Poverty
Distribution Party, said they came to Osogbo to disturb the
peaceful atmosphere of the state.
“Since three months that Mr. Rauf Aregbesola came to office as
Governor of the state, we have been enjoying peaceful atmosphere
until Thursday that PDP came to the town to cause chaos. As you
know that the broom is the official tool throughout the Africa
to sweep away evil”, Faramade added.
He pointed out that “what we were doing on Friday is the
demonstration of total rejection of PDP from Osun state and by
April, we are going to demonstrate it with our vote in which the
PDP will become a thing
of the past”
