Explosion Rocks UN House in Abuja

An explosion has
occurred at the United Nations House in Abuja.Though details are
sketchy , reports said
it was a suspected suicide attack this morning in Nigeria’s
capital.

About 300 UN staff are reported to be
trapped in the building and rescue operations are going on.Siren
blarring ambulances and
fire service vehicles are dashing towards
the UN House as
the time of writing this report.Casualty figures not
available immediately but reports said at least 8 bodies
were seen being rushed to the National Hospital which is
nearby.Several victims have reportedly been confirmed dead.But
no official figure immediately available,but Red Cross
officials said at least 16 people were killed by the bomb
blast
Rescue operation at the UN House Abuja(SR)
A suspected
suicide bomber attacked Nigeria’s Police headquarters in
June.The police have yet to provide details of the
investigations into that incident.
