Vote out sleeping lawmakers-Ex SSG urges
Edo people
Newsdiaryonline Sun March 13,2011
Former Secretary to Edo State Government (SSG), Hon Pally Iriase
has assured Owan people
of quality representation if voted into the House of
Representatives, saying
that Owan Federal Constituency would have a credible
voice as against the
muffled voices of Senator Yisah Braimoh and Hon. Johnson
Abolagba of the PDP, who
have been awarded the ‘best sleeping legislators’ in
Nigeria.
Iriase, now Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) House of
Representatives candidate for
Owan Federal Constituency, told the mammoth crowd that thronged
his campaign shuttle to
several communities at the weekend, that it was the quest to
serve the Owan people
that has spurred him into seeking elective office.
He said he remained committed to bringing about quality
representation to the people
who have been at the mercy of self-seeking political plunderers
and those who are half
hearted in the business of lawmaking.
The former SSG assured the people of the two Local Government
Areas (Owan East and
West) that they would feel the impact of his contribution to the
growth of their
communities when voted into office.
Alluding to the sterling qualities of Iraise in a shuttle that
saw his campaign train
move from ward 01 to 11, in the two LGAs, the people said that
they have been liberated
from political social neglect and slavery since the coming of
the ACN administration,
and they are sure the party will do much more with the
election of Hon Iriase
into the House of Representatives.
Speaking on behalf of Oke-Ora community, Mr Bernard Adedeji said
“Iriase has some
captivating characteristics of a good leader as a representative
of the people in times
past”. He said these virtues of selflessness, diligence and
commitment to the
downtrodden have endeared the community support for his
political ambition
adding that the former SSG is reputed for serving his people
beyond the call to duty.
