Reports reaching Newsdiaryonline from Saudi Arabia today indicate that the President remains critically ill.It was learnt that most informed Nigerians who are performing this year's hajj are paricularly worried today about the president's condition.

``I don't know how you guys are taking the situation back home in Nigeria but we are worried hear.The president remains in a very critical condition..Anything is possible`` the source said

As a mark of the gravity of the situation ,the source said all governors who are known to have gone for pilgrimage  have converged on Jeddah where the president is receiving treatment, ``it is a very serious matter ``.

He added that most people conversant with the situation are beginning to prepare their minds for any eventuality.However some others take solace in the axiom which says ill health may not necessarily result in death.But the situation remains dicey

All this is coming at a time several succession plots have been unfolding behind the scenes  in Nigeria .Sahara reporters today also published a petition by Nigerians asking YarAdua to resign.This comes after a report by the Punch that Vice President Goodluck Jonathan has come under pressure by those who want the veepee to resign

It is however a known fact that if  the president is incapacitated, the vp is the most logical  and constitutionally recognised person to succeed him.Any other arrangement  to the contrary may be an invitation to intractable political crisis .
